Coverage

This site provides information about hours and pricing of on-street parking for a number of cities and towns in Malaysia that are using a scratch or punch-hole coupon system and/or parking apps. The type and quality of data varies according to the information that is made public by the local councils. The information available is the following:

Future Plans

After processing the available data that is still marked as … above, we intend to start collecting data for other types of parking (metered parking, privately run parking lots, shopping centres, hotels etc).

Also, we plan to introduce some crowdsourcing features in the near future, to enable you, the users, to improve on the data that the councils have provided. This will enable the coverage in the table above to expand, and we also hope that you will help to correct the names of businesses to what shops are commonly known as, rather than the legal business name that the council data normally comes with.

About Us

This site was created by some residents of Penang, who witnessed the initial confusion of the launch, cancellation and re-launch of coupon parking in Penang in early 2014. After seeing the information made available by MPPP, we decided that with today's technology it could be made more useful by reformatting from PDF copies of printed newsletters to location aware mobile web pages.

As we progressed, we started to realise that other cities and towns throughout Malaysia were using similar schemes, with the information similarly only available in inconvenient form, so we have gradually expanded our coverage to most of Malaysia.
